Accessibility

A website that's open to everyone

We want as many people as possible to be able to view and enjoy this website. So it’s designed to follow many of the available standards and guidelines.

Guidelines and standards we follow

This website aims to conform to level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for everyone, including older people and people with disabilities.

Following these guidelines will help make www.ageinternational.org.uk more user friendly for everyone.

For instance, where non-text elements are present there should be an appropriate text equivalent available.

Where we have had to deviate from accessibility standards due to technical reasons we hope the site remains as accessible as possible to all users.

Any known exceptions

While we try to follow the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it’s not always possible to do so in all areas of this website.

For example, where this site contains video, a transcript may not yet be available, and due to the restrictions imposed by the server architecture the forms on this site are composed in tables.

Contact information for reporting difficulties with the website

We are always looking for ways to bring all areas of the site up to the same level of accessibility. In the meantime, if you experience any difficulty in using our website, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
