Age International is looking for people who are passionately interested in ageing, older people and/or the international development and humanitarian sector to join our Board of Trustees. The Board is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity and its financial health.
As an Age International Trustee, you will shape the direction of the charity as we focus on promoting and protecting the rights of older people in some of the poorest parts of the world. We support older people in low and middle-income countries by improving livelihoods, health and healthcare; providing age-friendly emergency relief; and by challenging attitudes, influencing decision-makers and changing policies.
Age International is a charitable subsidiary of Age UK, as well as being the UK member of the HelpAge global network, and a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
We believe that having a diverse Board is critical for helping us to achieve our mission. Four meetings a year, plus preparation time, and one away day. The meetings are usually held in Central London.
