Grandparents United is a community of people who donate monthly to Age International to help older people around the world facing life’s toughest challenges to get vital health care, emergency support and live-saving social connections to older people around the world.
No, you definitely don’t need to be a grandparent to join. You just need to believe that, together we can make the world a better, fairer place for older people.
Through regular monthly donations to Age International, the Grandparents United community helps to fund vital healthcare, age-appropriate emergency support, income security and life-saving social connections to the older people who need it most.
Everyone who joins Grandparents United will receive regular updates from Age International on how their donations are helping older people around the world (unless you opt out of communications from us).
You’ll also have opportunities to get involved to help even more older people, for example, by taking a campaigning action or donating to an emergency appeal. And you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences of ageing with the Grandparents United community, who like you, understand the joys and the challenges that ageing can bring.
To say a big thank you and welcome you to the Grandparents United community and Age International, you’ll receive a confirmation of your donation, a wallet sized card to remind you of your support, pin badge, and a set of postcards featuring stories from older people who have been helped by donors like you.
You’ll also receive regular postcards with stories from older people around the world, as well as updates through our exclusive Grandparents United Hub.
And because we know that it’s better when we work together than alone, we’ll be in touch with more ways you can get involved to support Age International to help make even more of a difference to older people.
We’d love it if you could commit to £10 a month but there is no upper limit and you can give as little as £2 a month if this feels more comfortable for you. We would ask that you consider committing to at least two years so we can plan our work accordingly and help as many older people as possible.
We reserve the right to close the Grandparents United Community at any time. In this event, your donations to Age International will continue.
You can amend your donation details, cancel your monthly donation or change your communication preferences at any time by contacting our supporter care team on 0800 032 0699 or contact@ageinternational.org.uk. If you are cancelling your donation, don’t forget to contact your bank as well.
Age International works with our global partner HelpAge International to develop and implement programmes tailored to the needs of older people, their families and the local community. This means your gift could help older people to have a secure income, to get the right kind of healthcare, to access age-friendly support in emergencies or find increased social connections within their communities. And on a global scale, we work with HelpAge International to change local, national and international government policies to ensure older people’s rights are met, and their contributions are recognised and valued wherever they are in the world.
If you would like to make a one-off donation to Age International’s work, please go to www.ageinternational.org.uk/donation/donate-today or call 0800 032 0699.
