We need your help. Add your voice to our campaigns and show decision-makers that the UK public cares about the rights of older people worldwide.
Age International campaigns for the rights of older people around the world, amplifying older people's voices and working in partnership with them to influence policy and practice - both in the UK and globally.
In many places, older people are denied access to work, healthcare, education, and support due to their age. Some even face violence and abuse.
We believe everyone has the right, not just to survive, but to thrive as they grow older. Yet the needs and rights of older people are consistently overlooked, despite global population ageing.
Globally, more than 1 billion people are over the age of 60. This age group is growing rapidly and by 2050 is expected to double to 2.1 billion, with 80% of older people living in low and middle-income countries.
We strive to ensure that older people are visible, valued and heard - not only in our development and humanitarian work, but in their communities, countries, and worldwide.
We work with governments, public authorities, and other decision-makers to bring about long-term system change - including the UK Government. We aim to protect equal rights, amplify older women's voices, support adaptation to climate change and advocate for older people's needs.
Adding your voice to our campaigns adds weight and momentum to our cause. Together, we can make a difference for older people worldwide.
We also work with HelpAge International and the HelpAge global network to create lasting change for older people in low and middle-income countries from the ground up. Providing support and services that address older people's needs, working with other humanitarian and support agencies to ensure their work is age-inclusive, and providing training and resources that enable older people to campaign within their communities for systemic change. We work with many inspirational older activists who are fighting to ensure their voices are heard by decision-makers.

We have laws talking about children and women but there is none for older people. Older people deserve to be treated better and laws that recognise their rights would help address that.
